CLINK CLUNK EVERY TRIP

It always saddens me whenever I read about yet another fatality on our roads, a case in point is the four eminent doctors who met their untimely death on their way back from undertaking voluntary work in the country recently and also just a couple of days ago we all read about Suzy Williams, a young and a very talented actress who got killed in yet another a road accident in Accra. These are just a few of the road fatalities that hit the headlines, sadly though, it seems like a daily occurence.

What I really don't understand is why isn't the police or those responsible for road safety doing a bit more to educate road users about the dangers of not wearing seat belts for front seat passengers and drink driving. On some of my recent trips back home whenever I got into a vehicle, like a taxi and buckle up people tend to look at me as if I'm not one of them or I'm from another planet altogether. The state the  seat belts in some commercial cars are so dusty from lack of use that they'll soil your clothes but I still use them and some drivers go to extend of cutting off their seatbelts altogether. I'm not for a minute suggesting that any of the above passengers were not wearing their seatbelts but seatbelts are put in cars for an important reason, they do definitely save lives.

Why the authorities hasn't yet made belting up for front passengers a legal obligation still baffles me. Adopting the good habit of wearing seatbelt in the front passenders will not in itself prevent accidents but when the accident do occur it will almost certainly save lives in most cases.  I accept that like most poor African countries the deplorable state of our roads also contributes to the the spate of road accidents but simple road safety measures and firm actions against dangerious road users will go a long way to improve road safety.

Whilse I send out my heart felt sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of all those unfortunate ones who has lost their lives on our roads, I'll say this to everyone, CLINK, CLINK EVERY TRIP.

God bless you all.

What they need to do now is dig up all the new roads which will actually slow down those fools and showboaters. They dont know how to drive on smooth surfaced expressways. imprison them for drink driving and suspend indefinitely LGV drivers who use articulater lorries as weapons of mass distruction and mayhem.

You as a Christian belief, that these are the course of the devil. I will start taken you serious if you BOAT, come out and condemns this half baked so call Pastors, who go round about this accidents being the cause from God. Be bold. I will be waiting. Anyway, a happy New Year to you. As you know, I am not a Christian who doesn’t belief in the Christmas celebrations. Have a wonderful celebration in the New Year with all your families.
