a totally agree wit u my brother, when ernest left my family, and the whole household no more listens to hot cos there is nothing to here to make our day, my mum love his news papper review wit the fluent command of both twi and english and also his interviews techniques.we WILL MISS HIM ALOT.FOr this short period on hot fm his impact has been absolute phenomenon.
so they say Ghanaian mentality its alway bad ,van should realised that no condition will remain permanent and he can never put a square peg in a round hole.cos there is no competion on our airwavwaves in the in london that is y people like van is taking a piss, he too arrogant and do not know any thing about radio.he in the end will be a loser if ernest join anothers station all these teeming listers will no more listen to hot.

derek,i think you've hit the nail right on top.i thought i was the only person who had problem with his grammar.though he was doing ok,the way and the manner he kept on boasting about being a journalist but didn't know the difference between i didn't hear and i didn't heard baffles me. even my small brother in the village school would never say "i didn't heard".this was his problem when he was with wbls and i thought as he upgraded himself to Hot fm he would do better but it was the same poor grammar.and also forcing to stammer whenever he speaks english but the stammering always vanish when he speaks the asanti akyem twi. i hope he would learn his lessons well when he get the chance to another radio station not to insult his governor.
I am very dissapointed with your arguement. Since you cannot find any tangible and sensible reason to fault him, you decided to comment on his use of english languauge. I am an avid fan of hot in the morning from its inception and I must congratulate each and every presenter who has sat in that hot seat from Danny through to Ernest. They have all gone on to do bigger things incase you are not aware so maybe the problem lies with the illiterate HOT FM management. What you must realise is that we all have our strengths and weaknesses and english language is not our mother tongue so it shouldn't be an issue here. Anyway what about the so-called CEO APPIAH KUBI VANDYCK, he cannot comprehend a simple sentence in english without mistakes, but I guess you guys fail to see that. Also gone are the days when Appiah aka Vandyck started out on WBLS FM, your idol Vandyck could not even pronounce the word "DOUBLE", "MISSING" etc.
Vandyck and the likes of Nana Gyimi Kankan etc are control freaks, why dont they try manipulating people like Teddy B, George B, Fiifi Pratt, Giles B, Michael Ocansey etc. It because these guys are the real professionals in radio journalism and they know what they are doing unlike the management who have no single experience in management yet want to manage, the outcome is failure!
My personnel opinion is that you are both paid HOT FM agents who have been hired to tarnish Ernest's image, but remember you shall not succeed.
