Doing politics with this national problem will not earn any political party a point. The oppositions want to tell the public that they could do better as far as energy problem is concerned without suggesting any alternative solution. During NDC era there was nothing they could do to help solve the energy problem till Clinton came to Ghana and promised to bring experts to come and help solve the energy problem hence the Aboadze thermal plant in 1999 after 19 years of office. NDC should know that nothing extraordinary was done during their term of office. It is better we solve it together than to blame each other. We should see Ghana problem as national problem and not a political problem.
THE CURRENT ENERGY CRISIS IN GHANA IS SOMETHING THAT ALL PARTIES AND GOVERNMENTS SHOULD HOLD THEIR HANDS UP TO. AFRICA IN GENERAL AND GHANA IN PARTICULAR HAS A CULTURE OF BUILDING THINGS AND JUST LEAVING IT TO ROT. I SAY THIS BECAUSE THERE OVER 100 INSTANCES WHERE MANY OF OUR LITTLE AND OUTSTRETCHED INFUSTRUCTURE HAS NO LEVEL OF MAINTENANCE OR VERY LITTLE WHERE THERE IS. THIS IS ALSO EVIDENT IN PRIVATE PROPERTIES, BOTH DOMESTIC,COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL. AS A RESULT MANY OF THE FACTORIES THAT WERE STARTED IN THE 60' AND 70' ARE NOT STILL RUNNING. WE AS AFRICANS BELIEVE AND THINK ONLY ABOUT THE HERE AND NOW WITHOUT ANY THOUGHT FOR THE FUTURE. I AM SAYING THIS NOW AND MARK MY WORDS. THE SAHARA IS SLOWLY CREEPING SOUTHWARDS YET THERE ARE NO CONSERTED EFFORTS BEING MADE TO SERIOUS AFFORESTATION. BEFORE WE KNOW WE WILL HAVE A FAR GREATER PROBLEM ON OUR HANDS.WE HAVE VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS WHO MANAGE ORU NATURAL RESOURCES, YET THEY ALL DO NOT SEEM WORK DOING WHAT? ONLY GOD KNOWS. WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR WAY OF THINKING AND SEE THE WORLD AS IT IS AND NOT WE WANT IT TO BE. OH!!! GHANA WHEN SHALL WE.
