Is the fare too high or ………..

As a bus driver in East London most of my passengers are from multicultural background and it is great to meet different people. What I find it difficult to balance is why most of the ladies (Ghanaians) always look miserable and grumpy anytime they come on the bus.

No matter how hard I tried to smile at them, they are *always* moody. Please tell me if I am missing something or is the bus fare too high.

Well your thought is very interesting; I hope others may come up with some solution or the courses of such attitude. It is very disturbing. What a shame. I will also be looking for such comportment. Maybe it might be the Ghanaian lady way of cheerfulness. Who knows? Time will tell. Life is just too short we should all get out of these stress, it will not pay never will it Thanks.

Pasco, you are not the only one. Ive noticed it too.

On my route, I normally pick up the city people and you get a lot of eye contact and plesantries from the passengers , but come evening, when you get a few black passengers on board, they are the most miserable people. sometimes It even saddens me

Its true.

it is not only ghana Lady. It is mainly all the black women and im not just talking buses. I dont understand why when for instance they can afford to be pleasant to white but when a black man is in the visinity, they pretend to squeeze their faces like they are trying to discourage you to be pleasant towardes them.

They are sick girls

all of them. They should learn manners from white girls.  They fraustrate a lot of black men. And they are the same people who complain that there is no blackman around. CHANGE YOU ATTITUDES.

THIS INCLUDE

NIDERIAN GIRLS

GHANA GIRLS

WEST INDIAN GIRLS

BLACK AMERICAN GIRLS

IN FACT, THE  WHOLE BLACK FEMALE WORLD..........

I don't know why people are looking soooooo sad and angry these day.  Maybe it is stress.

Please don't put down the ladies, no matter where they are from.  They are someone's mother, sister, auntie, cousin or lover.  Would you like to hear someone diss your mother, no way.

Don't forget who cares for you.  Give the ladies a rest and start assisting with everyday things.

Some of your brothers out there get very lazy when they have a female to pick and clean up for them.  Even some of my white brothers take there ladies for granted.

It is a 2 way street.  Share and share alike. ok.

I'm really interested to know (hear) from our ladies, detail explanation of why most (99%) always grumpy.

Hi Kath, I agree with you absolutely. But as bus drivers our priority is to ensure not only the safety of passengers but also to make them feel welcome and enjoy the ride. We really do care and would like to see them smile or “say thank you for waiting driver”. We like to hear from you (ladies) if there is something we are not doing right.

Please remember that the people we miserable before they get on your bus.  I always try to say thankyou to the drivers but some people just push on the bus and dont know how to be polite.

May I say thanks to anyone who gives up there seat for someone else.  That is being thoughtful and caring.

All those people who want to leave their shopping on the seat, spare a thought for others, we paid our fare, so we are entitled to ask you to share the seat.

Keep smiling because life can be too short.  I makes me feel happy when someone smiles at me and I love to see a smile on someone else's face when I smile at them.

It only takes a few seconds to change someone's day and it costs nothing.

Kathy  xx

Kath, You lucky you are a girl, because you will get smiles from black, white, porto rican, and indian guys. thats not the issue. The issue is that we brothers get no curtesy smile from you sisters regardless of where you from.

Im beginning to think it is a black thing. You lot make us feel as  unwelcome around you as much as possible... SAD NEGRO WORLD

Asanteniiba,

Thank you for your input to the posting " RE: Is the fare too high or …" in other words for your reply to dear Kath. Saying 'you lot make us feel as unwelcome around you as much as possible' (Asanteniiba: 2006).

My question for you is, are you a Bus Driver or have you been in that line of work before? If the answer is NO, then I am not sure you truly know how our sisters make brothers feel, very heart-rending.
