Well, my dear lady, don't let some of our African brother's preference for lighter-skin babes baffle or trouble you. Men, as you're probably are aware comes in all shapes and sizes so our choices in the opposite sex will almost always vary. The practice of some black brothers chasing after light skin women is not a new concept, and some of our brown skin sisters are not helping the situation either by going to every extreme to look lighter and in the proccess destroying their beautiful skin colour and exposing themselves to the sun's harmful radiation.
Anyway not all dark skin men fancy women of lighter shade and some red skin brothers also have a strong preference for the darker skin women so I think the equation is evenly balanced.
Opposites, they say, always attracts and I know that a lot of dark skin brothers will always opt for the fair skin sisters but speaking personally give me the chocolate brown sister any day.
I am pink on the outside and my husband is black. I don't think that it is a colour issue, purely because you can like someone just for themselves.
I love Highlife eventhough I don't understand the language because I am Scottish. I met my husband at a Ghanian charity dance and he is Ivorian and his mother is Ghanian.
Living in London makes most of us appeciate other peoples cultures and that is why lots of people are mixing + marrying into different ones. It does'nt change where we are from but I hope that one day we will all go back to one race and be at peace with one another.
At the end of the day, it would be nice to think that the person you are with, is with you because of you not because of what shade your skin is.
